Im from Lisbon and my favorite city in Algarve is lagos

I do wonder what the general statics are for how many people who move country eventually move back. I would think quite a lot move back. Especially when you move from one first world country to another. A bit different if moving from a developing country.

I visited Porto in 2015 for a Chelsea match. I ended up living in Portugal (Porto, Nazaré, Lisbon) for 11 months. I'll be back soon, maybe for another Champions League match. Nothing would make me happier. From San Francisco, safe travels. Ladies know about shrinkage right??? :)

Pizza Hut was actually better there too than America😃 While driving on the narrow streets sometimes I wasn't sure if I was on a sidewalk or a road 😅and getting trapped in parallel parking, not fun trying to get out!! GPS navigation at the roundabouts made me laugh..."take a 1/2 right" But traveling there from US was the best experience ever!! Wish to move there if I can figure it out!! Your videos are great and glad you're loving it!

It's funny that as a Korean American, most of things you say of Portugal relative to America is exactly same of America relative to Korea (bureaucracy, high taxes, slowness...) I guess America sits in the middle of the three countries

Nobody likes being invaded by large groups of foreigners. It can upset the economy and available infrastructure. While there are no doubt less compatible cultures, my guess is excessive numbers of Americans are different enough to grate on the locals' nerves. And how many really put in the effort to integrate. I don't mind Americans, myself, but I can't see them happily playing second fiddle anywhere.

Great channel. You are doing a very good job. You know Portuguese have some features that are common to very old nations and sometimes are not well understood by foreigners. When you are born in a country with almost 1000 years, you inherit so much from that long history.

Because it is not what many make out out to be ... Portugal is quite different from Spain, which is very different from France. In the end, you need to take time and invest and see what you like!

I have had the same experience in Lisbon - 3 different Times! I was actually living there at the time - in what was considered a GREAT area - Principe Real. I was mugged once - just 5 minutes away from my apartment. The other 2 times - it was in Bario Alto...walking home a bit woozy from drinking with friends, and after 2am ...Dudes from the African Colonies - either Cape Verde, or Angola. I also lived in Martim Moniz - which was...at the time, full of drugs, and poorer immigrants - and my laptop was stolen there. I lived in Istanbul for 5 months in 2021 - absolutely NO Problem! Never hassled in Spain, France, Italy or Ukraine (Lviv). I guess Portugal was my "Unlucky Charm"! Just to clarify - I've been robbed living in NYC - with guns put to my head, and lived for 8 years in New Orleans - considered very dangerous...and was robbed just once, by a white junkie with a knife, and was not hurt - he was actually articulate about what he wanted, and left ...quietly - with my bike, phone and wallet. Nothing against Portugal, but Jesus! 3 TIMES?!

I am portuguese, I eat pizza with my hands, sandwiches too LOL And I don't care if a man talks to me, if he is nice, I will talk to him, portuguese women just don't like men that start talking dirty, that's why we are pretty suspicious when a man comes talking to us.

I lived in Portugal with my sister and had to see a specialist right away. It cost me $12. Where I live it would have cost me $500. No thanks. I'm soon to be retired and I'm heading off to Europe.
